The North Wood County Historical Society owns and operates the Gov. WH Upham House which houses the Society and its historic collections from Marshfield and surrounding area, given for historical preservation. The NWCHS and museum is supported by memberships, donations and grants.
The Governor W. H. Upham House is the home of William Henry Upham (1841-1924) who was a Civil War soldier, Mayor of Marshfield, businessman, and the 18th Governor of Wisconsin (1895-1897).
